Thursday, 07/05/07 My new project |
 |
| | | | | |
As you can see from the pictures, my new project is watching caterpillars eat my parsley. Of course this is fine since I grew it for them. They are caterpillars from the black swallowtail butterfly. They are growing fast. I hope I will be able to see them in the chrysalis stage.

Yes, it's that time of year when all birdies are in nest making mode. The bluebirds are busy bringing twigs to the box for their nest. Now if that darn sparrow would stay out. This could be a problem. The chickadees are back again this year. Second time for them. They have built quite an elaborate nest made of moss, grass and get this, Maya's fur. Looks pretty comfey in there. As of today there are no eggs. Stay tuned for the birdie update.

Sunday, 01/07/07 It's a New Year |
 |
| | | | | |
Well it's 2007 here in Florida. It's currently 85 degrees out. Partly cloudly, with winds up to 4.6 mph. Oh, did I mention I got a new weather station for Christmas? I don't think there is going to be winter this year. Not alot new. Maya is still rather rambunctious at times. She's pretty much done with the crate. She never really cared that much about it. We often take her to work in the afternoons. Tire her out for the evening. Doesn't always work. Someone said Collies are supposed to be couch potatoes dogs, ha ha ha ha. Apparently they never met Maya.
As you can see my new topic of interest is mushrooms. There are so many different kinds. I thought I would do a little photo study of them. Stay tuned.
BIRD UPDATE:
The bluebirds are back already. Mostly just hanging out and eating and scoping out the nest box. A little early for the nest thing. We've had quite a variety - Blue Jays, Cardinals, Chick-a-dees, Yellow rumped warblers, Downy Woodpecker, Red Bellied Woodpecker, Tufted Tit Mouse, Red Winged Black Bird, Herons, Egrets, Wood Storks, Commorants, Wood Ducks, just to name a few. More to come I'm sure.
That's all for now, See ya later.
